Matthew
The story of Jesus told with the Jews mainly in mind. See how Jesus fulfils the Old Testament prophecies, how revolutionary His teaching and how baffling His mission as a “murdered messiah.”
Mark
This is the earliest and shortest of the gospels. It tells with urgency, not only the broad outline of Jesus’ life and impact, but also provides practical and powerful guidance on down to earth Christian living.
Luke
A massively researched and systematically written account of the ONE person qualified to lead and save all people (not just the Jews) for ALL TIME. Only in Luke do we meet the good Samaritan and those TWO prodigal sons.
John
The last of the four gospels to be written, John provides the “inside story” behind all the, well-known features of Jesus ministry. He even tells us why he wrote this gospel.
Acts
The story of how the gospel news spread like wild fire throughout the whole Roman world. Careful readers recognise four parts of Luke’s personal travel diary. All readers are aware that this is no mere history book.
Romans
“This epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament and is truly the purest gospel” said Martin Luther. It has changed world history more than once.
1 Corinthians
In this letter Paul confronts the thoroughly Greek cultured believers and leaves them in no doubt that they are not very Christian. He then goes on to answer some of the most searching Christian questions.
2 Corinthians
Paul had upset the Corinthian Christians. This letter marks the ending of the crisis but again – no punches are pulled.
