Old Testament
Genesis – part I

This wondrous ‘book of beginnings’ is not an encyclopaedia of all sciences and is not a ‘missive of myths’. It is about God, about us as human beings and the relationship which is the root of all relationships.

Genesis – part 2

This wondrous ‘book of beginnings’ is not an encyclopaedia of all sciences and is not a ‘missive of myths’. It is about God, about us as human beings and the relationship which is the root of all relationships.

Exodus

The birth of a nation and what a nation involves – especially relevant today! We note that the Bible word for all specially committed relationships is ‘covenant’.

Leviticus

Do not be fooled – this is not a primitive religion. This is about the cosmic issue of every age, namely the elimination of pollution. It dares to seek a supernatural solution!

Numbers

Population explosion and the priorities of human survival is the book’s focus and it does not pull punches about our slow learning ability.

Deuteronomy

This is ever the word to the affluent society. It still addresses our mistaken self-sufficiency.

Joshua

This is an overview of a military campaign ‘How The West (of Jordan) Was Won’. Deeper it goes to the foundations of building a nation which no military solution can ever solve.

Judges

Israel’s ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. A frank description as hordes of ex-slaves and ex-desert survivors struggled with the search for a just society.

Ruth

A woman’s feature. A romantic love story which redefines love and reveals the woman outsider who changed history.
