You wouldn’t expect this of a tough working class fellow (called by his friends, Rocky). He was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He was always ready for a fight. All too often opened his mouth and put his foot in it; a real loud mouth.
Well he became a follower of Jesus and the change was slow but very dramatic.
Here is a snatch of what he wrote to his friends when he was older.
“Gods gift to you is a home a house called FAITH. Now furnish that house with down to earth GOODNESS—Trim your goodness with Thoughtful study and learn from it. DISCIPLINE your learning with SELF CONTROL. Put steel into your self control with determination, but soften your determination and guts with God’s self-giving grace.
Check all this with a sensitivity towards other people, generous love, unsentimental, caring, self giving love.”
That is HOME to a Christian ! MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME !
